Before an MCA, check if you qualify for lower-cost options:
- Line of Credit (LOC): Best if you have solid banking history, lower APR.
- AR / Invoice Finance: If you invoice customers with net-terms, advance on invoices.
- Equipment Financing: Collateralized by equipment; lower cost than MCA.
Decision cues
- Stable monthly deposits and low NSFs → try LOC first.
- Large invoices unpaid 30–60 days → try AR advance.
- Buying hard assets (vehicles, machinery) → try equipment.
When MCA fits
- Need speed (24–72h) and bank LOC is not available yet.
- Short-term working capital to bridge specific gaps.
